What We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Email address: When you create an account or contact us for support
• Usage data: Information about how you interact with the app, including features used and time spent
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version to help us provide better support
• Photos and meal data: If you choose to submit photos of meals or manually log meals, we process this information to provide our AI-powered macro tracking service
• Fitness data: Workouts, weight entries and progress photos you choose to record
• Subscription information: If you subscribe to Macrosly Premium, purchase details from Google Play or the App Store, used to confirm your Premium access
• Snap Meal usage: A daily count of the photo analyses you use, to apply daily limits. For people not signed in, this count is kept against a hashed (not stored in readable form) IP address

How We Use It

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve our macro tracking service
• Process meal photos and analyze nutritional information
• Respond to your support requests and inquiries
• Analyze usage patterns to improve app functionality and user experience
• Send important service updates and notifications

AI Photo Analysis (Snap Meal)

When you use Snap Meal, the photo is sent from the app to our server, which sends it to Google's Gemini API to estimate the foods and nutrition in the photo. Google processes the photo under the Gemini API terms. Our server does not store the photo.

If you save a meal with its photo while signed in, the photo is stored in our cloud storage with your account so it appears in your meal log.

Snap Coach

After you save a Snap Meal, Snap Coach shows a short coaching note based on your goal and your day. The app calculates your status, numbers and suggested next step on your device. If you are signed in, the app may also ask our server to word the note using Google's Gemini API. For that, our server sends Gemini the saved meal's name and estimated calories and macros, your goal (Cut, Maintain or Bulk), your daily calorie and protein targets, your totals for the day so far, and the calculated status. No photo and no name, email or account identifier is sent for coaching.

We store the generated coaching note with that meal so it isn't generated twice. It is deleted when you delete the meal or your account. Coaching is general guidance based on estimates, not medical advice.

Sharing

We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our service, such as cloud hosting providers (Supabase for accounts, data and photos; Vercel for our website and server), analytics services, AI model providers (Google Gemini, for Snap Meal photos and Snap Coach notes) and RevenueCat (to process and verify subscriptions). These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual logged meals in the app at any time.

When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile, meals, meal photos, Snap Coach notes, workouts, weight entries, progress photos, achievements, stats and Snap Meal usage history. We keep records of subscription purchases held by Google Play or the App Store and by RevenueCat, for billing, tax and legal purposes. Deleted data may remain in our hosting provider's database backups until those backups expire on the provider's backup schedule.

Deleting Your Account

Delete your account in the app (Profile tab, then "Delete Account"), or request deletion by email. See macrosly.com/delete-account for both options. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in Google Play or in your Apple ID settings.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
